Anne Beaver (Brubaker) Frantz, 86, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Born Feb. 17, 1914, in Scranton, she was a daughter of Weldon B. and Martha C. Brubaker.
Mrs. Frantz was a homemaker and also was formerly employed in the Clearfield County Prothonotary's Office in the late 1960s. During the 1970s-80s she served as the secretary at the Clearfield YMCA.
Upon graduating from high school in Scranton, she attended Wyoming Seminary and Mary Wood College. While living in Clearfield she was and active member of the St. John Lutheran Church, serving in many capacities in the women's group, as a circle leader, an organization president, on the altar guide and church council.
She was a Girl Scout leader, served as a tutor for Mid-State Literacy Council and was active with the Friends of the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library.
She is survived by two children, J. Paul Frantz II and his wife, Georgina, of Tomball, Texas, and Martha F. Clarke and her husband, Greg, of Clearfield; five grandchildren, Jacob Paul Frantz IV and Jeremy Patrick Frantz, both of Texas, Joshua Paul Clarke, serving with the U. S. Army, Christopher J. Clarke and Rachel E. Clarke, both of Clearfield; two great-grandsons, a sister, Cynthia B. Watt of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Paul Frantz Jr., on Feb. 24, 1967, and whom she wed on Oct. 10, 1940, in Scranton; and a granddaughter, Marla Frantz.
Funeral services and committal services will be held at St. John Church on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas E. Darr officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:30-11 a.m.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, 217 E. Pine St., Clearfield.
