Burial record in the sexton's ledger book shows: Mrs. V. R. HAYNES, born in Georgia, died aged 39 years of "rumatism," and was buried 20 NOV 1878 in Lots 63 1/2 [= 163 1/2?] and 161 1/2 [section number not reported -- evidently Section 1], as a non-resident of Columbus, Georgia. The sexton was Abraham ODOM.
Probably in same lot (per Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area): Jno. HAYNES was interred 16 MAR 1874 in Section 1, Lot 164 1/2.
1850 census of Columbus, GA, household 573, says Mrs. Elizabeth Broadnax (apparent widow), 38 GA, real estate value $3000, James Broadnax (probably Elizabeth's brother) 21 GA, works at Foundry, Mariah Broadnax 15 GA, and Victoria Broadnax 12 GA.
