I found the citation on Ancestry in TREES LEAVES 5-10-2015.

The attached citation is: Family James McFerrin Key. Sources: James McFerrin Key; Fred "Ric" Gordon http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~alcwroot/6th_alabama_inf/roster/6th_ala/m .htm

I could not get to the site. One of Frank's half-brothers survived the same battle according to the article.Frank's father was the son of my husband's 3g-grandmother.

His name is on the monument in front of the Lowndes Co. Ala Courthouse
an interesting article in Ancestry.com regarding Francis Polk Haralson. It listed information about Francis written by his mother's brother, David Gordon Jr., to David's brother. In his letter, he tells how Frank was killed. The battle where Frank was killed took place in July 1861.

Frank's father was William Browning Haralson. His mother was Susan Gordon. Susan was William's third wife. (William was widowed 4 times and had 16 kids.)
