Nora Jane was the child of a single mom, father unknown to me, grew up in an all Black neighborhood, married at 14, was with child when her husband Cyrus Wiseman Bundren died in a mining accident. Married James Harpole, had three additional children plus two infant deaths, for a total of 8 children with 6 living, was widowed again, had some connection with a 'Louison' Married Robert Skinner, had two daughters, left the home and was subsequently drowned by the people she was traveling with. It was foul play.

Although Nora is listed on the 1910 census with her husband Robert Skinner and two daughters (second page) I am not convinced that Nora was still in the home. Her age was recorded as 38 which is incorrect. Her husband is 44. Did she present herself as older when they married. Did the census taker missrecord it. She may have already left the home. The two daughters Bessie and Rose went into foster care shortly after this census was taken. One was adopted and reunited with her older sister Ella Banks after 54 years following a newspaper article her adoptive mom read and shared with her. Rose was not adopted but married, had children. Bessie married and had a chicken farm in Star City Arkansas.
