DILLARD KERNERSVILLE - Cora Mae Stafford Dillard, 86, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center - Palliative Care Unit. She was born April 16, 1924 in Forsyth Co. to the late Pearl Fields and John Lewis Stafford, Sr. Mae was a devoted member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Loyal Wesley Sunday School Class and the "Lady Bugs". In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred T. Dillard, six brothers and sisters, Callie Blake Davis, Hyram Bryson Stafford, Dorothy Lee Tilley, John Lewis Stafford, Jr. , Andy Christopher Stafford and Shirley Elizabeth Matthews. Surviving is her loving family, a sister, Kay Crews ; one brother, Don Stafford (wife, Carol); a niece, Kelly Crews Larrimore (husband, John); two nephews, Les Crews (wife, Teresa) and Grady Boyles (wife, Pat) all of Kernersville; many other nieces and nephews; and a faithful caregiver, Judy Hester, to whom the family extends special thanks. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Ellis Rouse and Rev. Phil Bauguess officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Palliative Care Unit of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
