Homer Willman (Bob) Marney, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2016. He was born July 8, 1931 in Prescott, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Bertha Marney, and 7 of 8 siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife, Anna, of 64 years, and 3 children: Evan (Mary), Dale, and Kelly (Lois Diane) Marney; sister Joy (Don) Lancaster; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He loved the Lord and was a member of Holy Cross Anglican Church. He also served on the vestry at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in the 1980s.

At a young age he worked on cattle ranches in Oregon breaking horses. He served in Korea in the United States Army. After his military service he worked for Douglas Aircraft in El Segundo and Torrance, CA and then moved to Sacramento, California where he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation as a power plant electrician. During his years before retiring, he transferred many times, working in Dutch John, UT; Gunnison, CO; Montrose, CO; and Boulder City, NV. In the winter of 1971 he transferred to Selah, WA and worked at the Rosa power plant for the Bureau. He retired early from the Bureau and began enjoying his life learning to golf.

He enjoyed his little ranch in the Wenas Valley where he raised sheep, quarter horses, hay and various other crops. He and Anna had some very good times being snow birds and traveling in the winter to Arizona where they made many friends.

There will be a viewing at Keith & Keith on Monday, July 18 from 4 to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held at the Wenas Cemetery on Tuesday, July 19 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow.
