Mr. James Clifton Yarborough, Jr., 59, of 803 Honeysuckle Dr., passed away at his residence Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. He had been in declining health for several years, and serously ill for three weeks.

A crypt side service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at the Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Yarborough was born on Nov. 19, 1938, in Lexington, NC, Davidson County. He was the son of the late James Clifton Yarborough, Sr. and Elizabeth Livengood Yarborough. Jim attended Catawba College in Salisbury, and Pfeiffer College in Misenheimer. In 1964, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Business Administration at High Point College (now High Point University).

In 1964, he worked in Norfolk, Va. and Raleigh, in the insurance adjustment and claims business. In 1964, he relocated to Greensboro, where he became a claims manager with the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Companies. Further insurance employment included a position as a senior property adjuster with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.

Mr. Yarborough was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lexington for many years prior to moving to Greensboro. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed these pursuits with numerous fellow sports enthusiasts throughout the years. Mr. Yarborough's appreciation for American cultural heritage was fulfilled through membership in the National Trust for Historic Preservation and North Carolina Preservation.

On August 7, 1965, he married Mary Ann Fuller, who survives of the home, also surviving are sister-in-law, Linda Fuller McFetters, brother-in-law, Richard Wayne McFetters, both of Hampton, Va. nephews, Richard Scott McFetters and Kevin Ladd McFetters, both of Greensboro, and several other relatives and friends.
