CHAMPAIGN - A funeral Mass for John L. Fileccia, 71, of Champaign will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1305 Lincolnshire Drive, C. The Rev. Anthony Trosley will officiate. Burial in St. Mary"s Cemetery, Champaign.
Visitation will be private.
Owens Funeral Home, Champaign, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fileccia died at 3:52 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 13, 2002) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
He was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Springfield, a son of Gus and Margaret O"Neill Fileccia. He married Mary Canfield on Oct. 27, 1951, in Springfield. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael Fileccia of San Diego; five daughters, Kathleen Stumpf of Fullerton, Calif., Theresa Fileccia of Foster City, Calif., Christine Breen, Diane Williams and Cynthia Harmon, all of Champaign; a sister, Margaret Bryant of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Fileccia was a member of St. Matthew"s Catholic Church, Champaign. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was an electrician at Kraft Foods, Champaign.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Matthew"s Scholarship Fund or the High School of St. Thomas More Scholarship Fund.
