Suffolk - Phillip Craig Bilby, 91, of Suffolk, VA, passed away December 17, 2015. He was born in Batesville, AR to the late Murray and Lela Bilby. Phillip is also predeceased by his first wife, Sally Lankford Bilby, second wife, Annie Byrum Bilby, and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Barnes Bilby. He retired after over 30 years from Ford Motor Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII. Phillip was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught the Phil Bilby Sunday School Class for 45 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #57 and was an avid stamp and train collector. Phillip is survived by his son, Larry Craig Bilby; grandchildren, Sean Craig Bilby and wife, Dana, and Shelley B. Young and husband, Jeffrey; great grandchildren, Abigail Bilby, Phoebe Bilby, Aaron Craig Bilby, Justus Young, and Eli Young; and brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Pat Bilby. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Dr. Donald R. Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
