Etta Alma Blades, the daughter of the late Albert “Bob” Horn and Bessie Henderson Horn, was born on December 2, 1913, in Bernie, Missouri.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Malden, MO.

On August 31, 1932, in New Madrid, MO, she was united in marriage to Homer Ray Blades. He proceeded her in death in December of 1974.

Mrs. Blades died Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in Malden, at the age 105 years.

She is survived by 6 nephews, Shelby Blades, Kenneth Blades, Dee E. Griffin, Dorman Griffin, Doyle Griffin, Dale Griffin and their families; 5 nieces, Dorthy Burks, Donnis Barker, Lou Campbell, Mary Schneiders, Susie Puastuua and their families; many great and great great nephews and nieces along with the adopted family at the Malden Nursing Center and many friends.

She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Eugene Horn; 3 sisters, Florence Griffin, Dora Corn and Ruby Owens and 2 nieces, Delma Williams and Dorris Bowman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the chapel with Reverend Mark Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery in Malden.
