Rev. William "Bill" W. Enete, Jr.

Bill Enete, 90, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully July 17, 2016. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Marietta with Dr. Bill Ross officiating. Interment will take place at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.

Bill touched the lives of countless people, not only through his presence, but by his words, music, and humor. He officiated many weddings including those of his children and relatives. Since childhood, Bill had a natural talent for music, and was especially talented in playing all keyboard related instruments, including the marimba, organ, piano and accordion. He also enjoyed all types of aviation, especially making and flying radio controlled model airplanes.

Bill Enete was born November 13, 1925 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he grew up with his Southern Baptist Missionary parents, William and Crystal. He came to the US in 1943 and spent subsequent years traveling to and from Brazil. He graduated from Baylor University in 1948. In 1955 he attended the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where he met his wife of 60 years, Norma Peters. He then graduated with a Master’s degree in Theology. At age 50, he attended Georgia State University where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Peters Enete, and brothers Noble and Happy Enete.

Survivors include his children, William Walters Enete, III and his wife Mangala of Marietta, Holly Carol Edley Gatling and her husband, David of Virginia Beach, VA, and David Andrew Enete and his wife, Traci of Snellville; his grandchildren, Ryan Seaton Edley, Brandon Michael Edley, and Amelia Grace Enete, and his sister Crystal Joy Enete.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Foundation, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.
