Martha Atwell, age 95 , of Alamogordo, N.M., died peacefully June 5, 2016, at the Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Home. Thanks to everyone for taking such good care of her. Martha was born April 22, 1921, in Stuttgart, Germany to Sebastian and Martha Bullinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Atwell, and her sister, Hildegard Mayer of Herrenberg, Germany and her longtime friend, Lydia Montiviaz of El Paso, Texas.
Martha is survived by her son Mike McAnally and his wife Stephanie; her grandson Mark McAnally and wife Sara of Lansing, Mich., and her niece Christa Roth of Herrenberg, Germany.
She had worked for the Soil Conservation Service in Roswell, N.M., and as secretary at White Sands Missile Range. Martha loved to cook, crochet and travel and to meet with her many friends who would stop by the house to chat with her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held this Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 10 a.m., at the Calgary Baptist Church. Cremation will take place at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
