Alvin D. Blount, 75, died Monday, July 18, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, July 21, 2016, in the Chapel of Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron, with Rev. Rick Lanford officiating.
Born in Macon to the late Alvin Dawson Blount Sr. and Mary Frances Arnold Blount, Mr. Blount was a retired manager with Sears and retired insurance agent with Woodmen of the World. He was a member of Northridge Baptist Church in Macon, and enjoyed golf and watching television.
Mr. Blount is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Smith Blount. Survivors include his girlfriend, Mary Ann Gibbs of Macon; daughters, Amanda B. Reeves (Steve) of Macon, and Melissa B. Sheppard of Macon; grandchildren, Haley Reeves of Macon, Ashton Sheppard of Gray, and Trevor Sheppard (Amber) of Gray; great grandchildren, Cayden and Braden; and his cat, "Puff".
