Pinkney was the son of Nancy E. Collins, he was first married to Catherine "Kate" Elizabeth Francum, they were married on October 20, 1870 in Lenoir, Caldwell, North Carolina.
Kate was born on May 21, 1850 in Lenoir, the daughter of Eli & Anna Francum.

Pinkney and Kate were the parents of:
Margaret S. Collins Collins 1874-Bef. 1900
Sarah E. Collins 1876-????
Nancy M. Collins Austin 1878-1961
James A. Collins 1878-1959
Charles P. Collins 1879-1940

Kate passed away on May 14, 1884 in Lenoir, Caldwell, North Carolina.
The Lenoir Topic, Wednesday, May 18, 1887
"-Died, last Saturday, Mrs. Pinkney Collins, at the residence of her husband on Abingdon Creek."

After Kate's death, Pinkney married Janette V. Jenkins, she was born on June 2, 1871 in Caldwell County, North Carolina, the daughter of Joseph J. & Martha J. Hatley Jenkins. The couple were wed on April 8, 1888 in Patterson, Caldwell, North Carolina.

Pinkney and Nettie were the parents of:
Mary J. Collins Shehan Chandler 1889-1984
Samuel C. Collins 1892-1957
Wesley W. Austin Collins (Adopted) 1893-????
David R. Collins 1895-1962
Asbury Collins 1898-????
Ida M. Collins Kincaid 1900-1965
Blanche L. Collins Bentley Jones Freedle 1903-1990
James W. Collins 1907-1999

The 1910 census shows that Nettie was the mother of 10 children, 7 of whom were living. At this time, Wesley W. Austin Collins was not in the household, but there was a son born sometime in 1910 with the name "Un" in the census with them. I believe that Asbury Collins was one of the deceased children in the 3 that were no longer living.

Pinkney's mother never married, she is found in the 1860 & 1870 census with Pinkney and a daughter, Elmira Collins whom was born in 1858. In the 1900 census, Nancy is living with Pinkney and his family and she states she had one child, one still living, that would be Pinkney, so what happened to Elmira?

Nancy Elizabeth Collins was born on May 7, 1827 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of William & Nancy Jane Moore Collins, the oldest sister of Catherine Collins, Sophrona Collins, Solomon Collins, Mary Collins, William Collins, Eliza Collins & Francis Collins.
None of Nancy's sisters were ever married, but some did have children:
Catherine: Melinda C. Collins Griffin 1861-1943
Sophrona: William M. Collins 1870-1927 (Whom also married his daughter Margert S. Collins)
Mary: Louzenia E. Collins 1864-1936
It is unknown at this time where Nancy's parents and siblings are all buried.

I have put Pinkney in this cemetery because he has children and his mother her. But there is no proof that he is here.
