“Addie Gulbranson Obituary”, transcribed from the Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune, Storm Lake, Buena Vista, Iowa, Oct 19, 1977:
Addie G. Williams Gulbranson, daughter of John A. and Louisa Guyre Williams, was born July 17, 1885, in Stark county, Toulon, Ill. She was united in marriage to Carl Gerhart Gulbranson on June 23, 1909. To this union were born two daughters, Ila Estelle and Ava Virgene, and one son, John Lee.
Carl and Addie farmed southwest of Alta until they retired in 1954. She was a member of the Alta United Methodist church and a charter member of the Womens’ Society. She lived in the Good Samaritan Center in Newell since January, 1977. Addie passed away Oct 8, 1977, in the Buena Vista county hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 13, 1969, her parents, a brother, George, and a sister, Louise. She leaves to survive her passing her daughters and son; sons-in-law, Allen Lee and Roy Post; grandchildren, Douglas and Carol Lee, Linda and Richard Schultz, Donna and Gary Lee, Russel and William Post, Donald and Merri Post; great-grandchildren Richard Lee and Tommy and Anna Schultz; sister, Mrs. Estelle Miles, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held in the Jones Funeral home, at 11 a.m., Oct 15, with Rev. A. F. Schneck officiating. Hymn selections “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by Jane Larson and Doris Patterson, accompanied at the organ by Deanna Larson. Attendants were Dick Edwards, Wayne Ericksen, Elbert Watts, Harold Poller, Wilber Pierson, and Bart Benna. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta.

Mrs. Carl Gulbranson, 92, of Alta, died Wednesday in Buena Vista hospital. Funeral services were held this Saturday at 11 a.m. in Jones funeral home in Alta. Rev. A. F. Schneck officiated. Burial took place in Woodlawn cemetery. Mrs. Gulbranson was married June 23, 1909, and the couple farmed near Alta. Her husband died in 1969.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Allan (Ila) Lee and Mrs. Roy (Ava) Post, both of Alta; a son, John of Newell; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
