Mrs. Susan Clark Ryan 69, of Thomasville passed away July 19, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a long but yet courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born August 18, 1946 to the late Herman Clark and Edith Clark in Guilford County. Susan was an example of a wonderful wife and was valiant in all she did. Mrs. Ryan was a Spanish School Teacher at East Davidson High School for 38 years, and loved her students and they loved her; even after retiring she taught English as a Second Language for 5 years in the Davidson County School System. Along with teaching she had a passion for traveling to countries which spoke Spanish and even went on Mission Trip to Honduras to help with Spanish speaking communities, she loved and nurtured animals and enjoyed spending time with her close knit friends.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Billy Ryan.
Surviving is her husband Ken Atwood of the Home; one Aunt Irene Rush, one cousin Helen Bryant, sister-in-law Karen Murphy and husband Dean; three nephews, Cody Tilley,Dillon Murphy and Jason Rumfeld.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday July 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Pine Woods United Methodist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Laurie Knoespel officiating. Interment will take place at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Jamestown.
The Family will receive friends Friday Night from 6:00-8:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
