During WW 2, he was an inspector for the Ministry of Aircraft Production. Visiting Birmingham in July 1945, he was returning home to Coventry when he was involved in a car accident. He died a few days later at the Birmingham General Hospital of his injuries on 29 July. He left a wife and daughter, Joan Pamela--b.1923-- d.1996 Eastbourne.
