Alice Hettie Johnson, daughter of Captain Robert E. Johnson and Julia Elizabeth Fleetwood, was actually born on 7 October 1850, St. Mary Parish, LA according to the birth records her mother provided to the St. Mary Episcopal Church in Franklin, LA. Alice first married a Mr. Stone probably during the War Between the States, and second Joseph Bernard Wofford on 3 February 1868, St. Mary Parish.

Alice's father Robert E. Johnson, son of Grifith Johnson and Naomi Elizabeth Cheney, was a steam boat captain. When Alice was not quite four years old, her father died leaving her mother Julia Fleetwood Johnson a widow with four small children to raise. Alice's siblings were Julia Elizabeth Johnson born 19 July 1844, Franklin Pierce Johnson born 3 November 1853, and Albert Cheney Johnson born in December 1854 after his father's death.

Julia Fleetwood Johnson married second James H. Hall and third George Stewart Nutting on 6 April 1871 in New Orleans. Julia was born in 1827, Golconda, Pope County, Illinois, died 31 March 1897, Athens, Henderson County, Texas. Her parents were Hatton Redditt Fleetwood and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown).

Hatton Redditt Fleetwood served in the War of 1812 as a private in the North Carolina Militia. His maternal grandfather Josiah Redditt is a proven American Revolutionary Patriot for Daughters of the American Revolution, giving Civil Service in Bertie County, North Carolina during the Revolutionary War. Sarah Williams, wife of Josiah Redditt, lineage can trace her ancestry back to John Williams born about 1669, Isle of Wight County, Virginia died in 1757, Bertie County, North Carolina. He is an accepted ancestor of the First Families of North Carolina. John's wife's name was Ann and his parents John and Ann Williams of Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

Hatton R. Fleetwood's earliest American Fleetwood ancestor is Francis Fleetwood born about 1608 in London England, died 1691, Norfolk County. Virginia. Francis Fleetwood was the grandson of Sir William Fleetwood, Recorder of London, a member of the Parliaments in 1572, 1584, 1586 and 1588, and a sergeant-at arms during the reign of Queen Elizabeth.
