COKELEY, Ina A. - 1908-2005 Ina was a native San Franciscan raised in Noe Valley. She attended San Francisco State Teachers College and started her teaching career at Starr King. She rose in the ranks to become principal of Sheridan and Jefferson elementary schools. After retiring she became president of the San Francisco chapter of the Retired Teachers Association and then president of the California Retired Teachers Association. She also served on the Board of directors at Edgewood Center for Children and Families. She was married to John Cokeley until his death in 1967. She was elegant, bright, accomplished, a true and trusted friend, and a woman of great kindness. A simple service will be held for Ina on Wednesday, May 25th at 1:00 at Holy Cross Cemetery, where she will be buried with her beloved husband John.
