Ewald W. Stoltz
Ewald W. Stoltz, age 88 of Hammond, passed away Friday, June 26, 1992. He is survived by one daughter, Jacquelyn (Donald) Klein of Griffith; one stepdaughter, Dawna (Jerry) Chavez of Hammond; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mabelle Adams of Munster, Betty Hinton of Munster and Bee Buhring of Munster. Preceded in death by wife, Dollie and son, Ronald.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 12:00 noon at the Kuiper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Powers officiating. Friends may meet with the family Monday, July 6, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (2 blks south of Ridge Rd), Highland.
Mr. Stoltz was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Munster; owner of the Stoltz Drug Store in Hammond; past president of the Lake County Pharmacist Association; past director of the Indiana Pharmacist Association in 1983; a recipient of the Bowl of Hygia Award, Pharmacist of Indiana; member of the Community Council of Greater Hammond; the Community Chest, the Red Cross, the United Way; board of the Home Nursing Service and St. Margaret Hospital Visiting Nurses Committee, the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and the Hammond Lions Club; a graduate of Valparaiso University; member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity. Mr. Stoltz was a pharmacist for 60 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church.
