Mrs. Ellen Matthews Dies; Rites Saturday
Mrs. Ellen A. Matthews, 95, of 1311 Ford Ave., died of a heart ailment at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in South Side Hospital.
Mrs. Matthews was born in Youngstown, June 7, 1865, a daughter of Michael and Catherine Sheridan Rouan. She was a member of St. Columba Cathedral.
She leaves two sons, William P. and John R., both of Youngstown; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Thomas of Youngstown, Mrs. R.H. Smith of Cleveland, Mrs. M.V. Buzard of Norwick, N.Y. and Mrs. R.M. Butler of Chicago; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the cathedral. Friends may call this evening and Friday afternoon and evening at the Fox Funeral Home.
