Catherine Alcorn, 70, died Monday in Henry County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Mrs. Alcorn, who was born in Burnside, Ky., graduated from Burnside High School in 1944. She was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church, where she was active in United Foursquare Women's Group. She taught the Faith Sunday School class for 21 years, and she was the church secretary, custodian and had many other duties in the church. She also enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Thomas; three sons, James (Velda), Charles and Thomas (Michelle) Alcorn; three daughters, Janice Tow, Rita (Robert) Stevens and Ginger (Jim) Wills; three sisters Norma (Floyd) Phelps, Maybelle Barnes and Marie McElhaney; a brother, James (Kathleen) Walden; 11 grandchildren and a great grandson.

Her parents, William and Maude Hogue Walden; three sisters, Pearl Silvers, Elizabeth Reynolds and Mary Bryant; four brothers, Herron, Hiram, William and Woodrow Walden; and a grandson, Jeff Alcorn, are deceased.
