ROSCOE J. BLANTON - Ravenna - Funeral service for Roscoe J. Blanton, 80, of Ravenna, who died March 29, 1995 at Mullican Nursing Home will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel. The Rev. Doug Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Ravenna.
Blanton was born on Oct. 24, 1914 in Randolph, the son of William Newton Blanton. He married Ethel Marie Woodruff on Nov. 25, 1933, in Bonham. He was employed with Varel Manufacturing as Executive Vice President. In 1965, he was employed by Walker McDonald Manufacturing as plant
manager until he retired in 1977. He was then employed as a consultant to the company for five years. He was a member of Ravenna Baptist Church, serving as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and bible study teacher.
He also served as past president of the Ravenna community Club and served on several other community organizations. Survivors include his daughter, Nita Brandenberger of Dallas, two brothers, Bill Blanton of Sherman and
Robert Blanton of Bonham; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Percy Adams, Byron Caylor, Bill Eaton, Phil Ferguson, Blanton Hancock, Pete Horn, J.W. Kinkade and Rip Winkler. The family
