Leonard Bloom, 87, passed away on July 23, 2016, in Fair Oaks, California. He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Bloom of Fair Oaks, his brother, Sheldon Bloom of Sarasota, Florida; his sons, Elliot Bloom (Pam) of Phoenix, AZ, Steven Bloom (Maggie) of Carmichael, CA, and Michael Bloom (Gayle) of Los Gatos, CA; stepsons Drew DuRoff (Julie) of Citrus Heights, CA, and Scott DuRoff of Sebastopol, CA. Stepson Mitchell DuRoff predeceased Leonard. Leonard is also survived by grandchildren, Nathan, Kenny, Somer, Sarah, Megan, Sierra, Ryan and Kyle, and three great grandchildren. Leonard was born in Passaic, New Jersey on June 6, 1929, to George and Eva Bloom and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from City College of New York with a degree in Chemical engineering. Leonard worked for New York Naval Shipyards, and the Ideal Toy Company in New York. He came to California to work for Aerojet in 1962, first in chemical engineering and later in marketing. He received a Master of Business Administration from Sacramento State University while working at Aerojet and taught business classes part time at the University for more than 20 years in addition to working full time at Aerojet. He retired from Aerojet in 1995. He then volunteered with AARP to help senior citizens with their taxes. He was a member of SIR (seniors in retirement) for 20 years and was an avid golfer. Funeral Service will be at Home of Peace Cemetery.
