Adolphus W. Portis, Jr., 91, of Springfield, Ohio passed away July 26, 2016. He was born July 4, 1925 in Springfield a son of Adolphus W. Sr. and Dorothy (Ballard) Portis. Mr. Portis served our country honorably in the U.S. Army and worked as a self employed contractor.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Robert “Bobby” Mims; two daughters, Dorothy Louise “Dink” Trollinger and Doris “Rink” Portis; step children, Willie White, Marcel White, Jeannine White and Richard White; a brother and sister-in-law, Aquilla “Buddy” and Betty Portis; sister, Estella Lewis; son-in-law, Randall L. Stephens; daughter in law, Linda Portis and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie E. (Fambro) Portis; three sons, Adolph “Sonny” Portis, Sr., Charles “Butch” Fambro and William “Butter” Portis, Sr. and a daughter, Linda Stephens.
