Charles M. Hey, 93, of Miami passed away on July 28, 2016 in Fairland. Mr. Hey was born on March 12, 1923 in Roseland, Kansas to James and Janett (Brown) Hey. Out of High School Charlie joined the United States Marines. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class August 1, 1946 in San Diego, California. He went to work at B.F. Goodrich and worked there for thirty-eight years. Mr. Hey attended the First United Methodist Church in Fairland, he was a member of the American Legion, was very active in the Military Honor Guard and also the Fairland Lions Club. He enjoyed working with wood and painting and did some welding and metal work too.

Charlie was preceded in passing by his parents Jim and Janett Hey, his wife Phyllis Hey, a son John Hey, his sister Irene Frazier and a brother Melvin Hey.

Survivors include his daughter Sherry Stoner and her husband Eddy of Fairland, his grandchildren, Kandy Martin of Tulsa, Darren Stoner and his wife Oowala of Palestine, Texas, Amy Anfinson and her husband Jon of Springfield, Missouri, Ryan Stoner and his wife Sheri of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jeannie Moore of Kansas City, Andi Moore of California and Leann Moore of Kansas City, great grandchildren are, Dacie Smith and her husband Jason, Gregory Martin, Evan Lurvey, Elli Lurvey, Chaynie and Mila Stoner and one great great grandson Jate Smith, an honorary grandson Juan Amador and a brother in law Glen Callow.

Celebrations of Life Services are on Sunday at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God in Fairland with Reverend Jackie Crafton officiating. Visitation will follow the service on Sunday. Services have been entrusted to Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairland.
