Lucia (Lucy) Negri, 96, of Rossville, a retired bookkeeper who was devoted to her family, died Monday in Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Castleton Corners, after a stay of two weeks.

Born Lucia Coco in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she immigrated to the United States with her family, moving to Manhattan in 1920. She later lived in Brooklyn before moving in Rossville in 1974.

Mrs. Negri was a biller and bookkeeper, working in the advertising industry in Manhattan for over 30 years.

After first attending Hunter College in Manhattan in the 1970s, she returned to school at the age of 63, and earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts.

Mrs. Negri was a great Italian cook, and enjoyed trying out new recipes for her family to sample. She also loved to travel.

"She was a kind and generous person and a lover of the fine arts. Her greatest joy when she was with her family and grandchildren," said her son, Paul.

Mrs. Negri's daughter, Roseanne Delfino, died in 2012.

Surviving, in addition to her son, Paul, are her son, Joseph; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Eltingville. Burial will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, N.J.
