Born in Wyoming, he was the son of Vaughn Shupp of Kingston and the late Dorothy Booth Shupp. He was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1969.
He was formerly employed by the former Owens-Illinois, Jenkins Township, and Penox Tech., Suscon.
He was a former Eagle Scout. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and liked to play pool. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees fan.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Shupp, on Feb. 3, 2009.
Surviving are his son, Jason Shupp and fiancee, Lisa Burnside, Hagerstown, Md.; brother, William Shupp, Moosic; brother, Robert Shupp, Pittston; brother, David Shupp, Florida; and nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea.

Thomas married Esther (Nicheporchek) Shupp, daughter of Walter and Mary (Hoover) Nicheporchek on August 30, 1975 at St. Mary's Catholice Church, Duryea. The Very Rev. S. C. Shuman performed the ceremony. The marriage ended in divorce on August 11, 1986.
Thomas and Esther had two sons. Their son Jeffrey Thomas Shupp (1984-2009) preceded his father in death.
