Ben F. Williams of Springfield, died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital. He was 78 years old. Mr. Williams was born July 7, 1880, near DuQuoin. He was married to Helen Bessie Stewart on April 2, 1902, who preceded him in death in 1952. He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for 48 years until his retirement 12 years ago. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Shekinah Lodge, AF & AM, at Carbondale.
Surviving are one son, W. Stewart, Springfield, and one grandson.
Services will be held at the Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
