Engelbert was the son of John Schneider and Margaret Arts. About 1906 he married Cecelia Lunz and they had seven children: Sylvester, Joseph, Raymond, Marie, Norbert, Charles and Antoinette. He was a machinist. Engelbert died of Parkinson's Disease at the age of 69.
