Paul,
Harvey was a complex person. I first met him while working for Johnson &
Johnson in dallas in 1973. coming out of ou...where he played for the
sooners, harvey went to work with cocal cola, becoming the number one
salesman in the us. He then went to work for colgate becoming their number 1
in the us. Slowly, Harvey was putting Johnson out of business so they hired
him. In 1974 he was their number one. After leaving them he went to work for
Polaroid as a regional manager, & of course became their number 1. he
developed a relationship with james garner who was their spokesman at the
time. Harvey became a big carouser...chasing skirts. His wife elain caught
him & so the nose dive began. Drinking, credit card skams, so on & so on.
The thing that took him apart was not being able to see his daughter, which
ultimately his behavior set that up.
We tried to help him, but he would not be helped. Could not believe he
made it as long as he did. It would be of interest to know how he died.
Harvey was a good man, but a bad boy!...just could not get it together.
