Fred H. Alford, age 75, died at a local hospital Monday evening. He had been a resident of Lansing for 40 years, was a member of South Baptist church and Friendly Bible class, was employed with the Atlas Drop Forge from 1922 to 1957 when he retired. Surviving are his wife, Ann, four daughters, Miss Mildred B. Alford of Detroit, Mrs. Raymond H. Riggs of East Lansing, Mrs. Forest E. Williams, Mrs. Donald B. Marshall, all of Lansing; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters, Mrs. William J. Leekey of San Diego, Cal., Mrs. James Dawe, Mrs. Ralph LaPorte, both of Vulcan, Mich.,four brothers, Charles of Detroit, William and Cecil of Livonia and Edwin of Lansing. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Estes-Leadley Colonial chapel. Rev. Howard Sugden of South Baptist church will officiate and interment will be at Evergreen cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to South Baptist church building fund.
