Lee Birdwell was born on December 8, 1931 in Cedar Valley, Texas & passed away on July 6, 2016 at his home in Cut and Shoot, Texas. He was the son of Algia & Vanie Ward Birdwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susie & son Tyson Birdwell. He leaves behind three sisters, Audrey Hardy, Jean Bell, & Avon White, one brother Harvey Birdwell & his wife Helen. He is also survived by two sons, Cody Birdwell & wife Terry, Shannon Birdwell & wife Susi, one daughter, Debbie Smotts, by grandchildren Joshua & Heather Birdwell, Larry Paddie & wife Helen, Misty Sommer, Matthew Birdwell & wife Erin, Tiffany Guenther & husband Keith, & numerous great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Lee was born in Cedar Valley, Texas & spent much of his growing up years in Quemada, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army in the 1950s & spent much of his adult life in the underground construction industry. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, playing 42 & raising goats.
Lee was dearly loved by family & friends & will be greatly missed. He was buried in Cedar Valley, Texas in the Cedar Valley cemetery where many of his relatives & ancestors are buried.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M. Friday July 15th at The Shelter Church in Cut and Shoot, Texas. On Saturday July 16th there was a service at 1:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church in Cedar Valley Texas with following burial.
