Passed away October 18, 2002 at Munson Medical Center after a short illness. Age 64 years. He was born January 18, 1938 in Saginaw to Winfred K. and Neljane (Richter) Bauknecht. He lived in Saginaw before moving to Houghton Lake 37 years ago. He married Ginna Miles on June 3, 1967 in Saginaw. She predeceased him in 1998. His daughter, Ronda also predeceased him in 1990. He was a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are his special companion, Sherry Shine, two daughters, Heather (David) Taylor of Holly, Michelle Bauknecht of Holt; two sons, Keith Bauknecht of Lake City and Eric Bauknecht of Merrittt; a brother, Gary (Marilyn) Bauknecht of Charlevoix and a sister Penny (Rod) LaPan of Saginaw; ten grandchildren.
