EDWIN M. ABBOTT

Edwin M. Abbott, age 88, of Collinwood Care Center, Brodhead, formerly of 2020 First Street, Monroe, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe.
Edwin was born August 6, 1913 in Primrose Township, Dane County, the son of Marshall andEliza (Everill) Abbott.He attended New Glarus grade school and married Palma Wittenwyler on August 21, 1941 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1996.

Edwin farmed in Sylvester Township from 1944 until moving to Monroe in 1949. He was
employed as a carpenter for Rote Lumber for three years before working for Ray Heinzelman Construction until his retirement in 1977.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, Claude, Clarence, and Fred Abbott; and five sisters, Florence Lee, Laura Schuler, Anna Block, Ellen Burkhard, and AliceHauri.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 13, 2001, at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral
Home, Monticello. Rev. Mary Gafner of Washington Reformation United Church of Christ
officiated. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.
