NUTTALL, Nileta B. Glover

Age of 100, born at her family home near Upper Lisle, NY on March 7, 1916, died peacefully with her daughter Joanne at her side on July 30, 2016.

Nileta was a proud graduate of Homer Central School, class 1933, and Cortland State College, class of 1938. She taught in country schools in the Caroline area, first at Bell School and later at Caroline Center School, where her students included her daughters. When the Caroline Center School was consolidated into the Ithaca School District, she started teaching third grade at Candor Central School and continued teaching until her retirement in June 1973. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Zephyrhills, FL, where they enjoyed 30 plus years. In 2006, they moved to their daughter's home in Elmira, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Frederick W. Nuttall, parents Harvey and Nina Alexander Glover; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold (Irene G.) Glover, Woodrow (Grace) Glover and Ward (Irene A.) Glover; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Agnes Whyte Nuttall, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gertrude (Gordon) Griffin, Edith (Kenneth) Brown and James (Caroline) Nuttall.

She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Donald) Quick and Linda (Richard) Carlton; grandchildren, Doneen (Eric) Saar, Krista (Jason) Strickland, Jonathan (Lisa Everts) Carlton, and Jennifer (Thomas) Carlton-Cooper; great grandchildren, Alexis, Kevin, Karaleigh, Andrew, Kathleen, Alexander, Emily, Ashli, and Nicholas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a very special exchange granddaughter from Brasil, Monica (Silvio) Sartorelli and their children, Lucia and Lorenzo.

The family will welcome relatives and friends to her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St, Elmira, NY on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10AM with Rev. John DeSocio.

She will be laid to rest in Quick Cemetery in Brooktondale, NY at the convenience of the family.
