Mrs. Susan Borer Witteman, wife of John Witteman, of 5 Tunkhannock avenue, passed away this morning at three o'clock after a long illness.
Mrs. Witteman was born in Port Jervis, N.Y., March 31, 1854, and was 71 years of age. In December, 1871, she was married to John Witteman, and the family home ever since has been in West Pittston. Mrs. Witteman was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Borer.
The survivors are Mr. Witteman; two sons, Henry, of Binghamton, and Fred., of Uniontown, Pa.; five daughters, Mrs. John Mills, of Pittston; Mrs. John Troy, of Wyoming; Mrs. John Huey, and Mrs. Charles Thompson, of Elizabeth, N.J., and Mrs. Floyd Knoor, of Wyoming; three sisters, Mrs. Percy [sic] Sickler, Mrs. Fred. Hoffner and Mrs. Samuel Weaver, all of Pittston, and one brother, Henry Borer, of Forty Fort, also 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be conducted at the home, 5 Tuckhannock avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial in West Pittston Cemetery. [Pittston Gazette, Pittston, Pennsylvania, Mon., November 9, 1925, p.7]
