For 70 years Chloes lived in and served the Milwaukee Community as a dedicated teacher. For most of her career, Chloes was a first grade teacher at the Hartford Ave. & Wisconsin Ave. schools. She served as the educational coordinator of primary education for the MPS system and also taught courses for educators at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In 1962, Chloes received the Distinguished Alumni award from the University WI.-Whitewater. She also was given the State of Wisconsin Service Award in 1971 for 46 years of "Superior Professional Service" from the Milwaukee Public School(MPS) system.
To her family, especially her nieces and nephews, she was know as that "special aunt" who always was there for them. All her nieces received at least one smocked dress which she lovingly made for them. Though Chloes never married, she had been engaged several times. She was well loved by all. She was kind, thoughtful, excellent with children and never got angry. She took care of her parents, William & Margaret Knight Bardeen in the family home until they died.
Chloes is buried with her parents, William and Margaret Knight Bardeen and her brother, Lawrence.
