Despite the valiant and extraordinary efforts of the many medical staff members at Summerlin Hospital, Aaron James Magruder quietly passed away on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 after a heart attack on Friday, July 30th. Aaron was born in the Hyde Park area of Chicago on April 19, 1961, a couple days after a late snowfall that year. Much to his mother's surprise and bewilderment, he entered the world at well over 8 pounds and grew rapidly, to a point where a visitor remarked "That's the most man-like baby I've ever seen!". Aaron came to Las Vegas when his parents moved there in July of 1968, attended the public schools, and was in the first graduating class of Bonanza HS, where he excelled in the shop classes, and enjoyed playing with the tennis and golf teams, the latter of which practiced at the Desert Inn Golf Club course. He developed his considerable skills working in construction all his life with materials of just about all types, including wood, metals, wallboard, as well as marinated steaks on a grill. He was always generous, sharing his master craft talents with all that asked for his help, and with many of those that didn't, but where and when he saw the need and knew he could use his time and effort to help.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dawn Kathleen (nee Hinson), his beautiful daughter, Brittany Lynne Magruder, his son, Dustin James Magruder, his parents, Allen and Libbie Maguder, and his brother, Wade Allen Magruder (Kristen).

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, August 8th, 2016 at noon in the Social Hall at Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV.
