Obituary: Obituary Collection by Borden Historical Society, page 195, column 1, no newspaper given, dated 9 Jan 1978, reads: Durham Rites Held Today – Funeral services for Dewey (Ray) Durham, 50, of R.2, Floyds Knobs, were held today at the Dieckmann Funeral home, with burial in the Daisy Hill Cemetery, Borden. He died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Floyd county Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Borden and was a machinist for the Hart Fireplace Co. He was a member of the Daisy Hill EUB Church and the Hobart Beach post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, New Albany. Survivors are his wife, the former Mary K. Marcum; one son, Michael Ray Durham; one daughter, Mrs. Sheila Lynn Kowalski, Palatine, Ill.; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Mack Durham, Memphis; one brother, Carl Durham, Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Sciefers, New Albany, Mrs. Norma Wolfe, Lafayette, Mrs. Jessi Chisolm, Manhasset, N.Y. and Mrs. Helen Morrison, Crothersville.

He was a native of Borden and was employed as a machinist at the Hart Fireplace (S&T) Co., Survivors include his wife, the former Mary K. Markham, a son, Michael Ray Durham, at home; a daughter Mrs. Sheila Durham Kowalski of Palatine, Ill.; a brother, Carl Durham of Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Sciefers of new Albany, Mrs. Norma Wolfe of Lafayette, Mrs. Jesse Chisolm, Manhassett, N.Y. and Mrs. Helen Morrison of Crothersville and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Mack Durham of Memphis. Friends may call at the Dieckmann Funeral Home after noon today. Funeral services are at 12:30 p.m. Monday with burial in Daisy Hill Cemetery in Borden.
