ZIRKLE, ANNE KATHREN - age 25, of New Haven, Conn., and Jefferson City, Tenn., passed away suddenly Monday, April 7, 1997, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born in Millington, Tenn., January 27, 1972, daughter of Dr. John W. and Eva Ergenbright Zirkle. She was a graduate of the Webb School of Knoxville and a 1994 graduate of Davidson College, Davidson, N.C., with high honors in religion, and was named the outstanding graduate of the Department of Religion. While at Davidson, she spent her junior year abroad as a student at the University of Wurzburg, Germany. After graduation from Davidson College she was awarded a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship in Stralsund, Germany. She was currently a student in the Yale Divinity School, where she was in the Master of Divinity program under the care of Holston Presbytery. At Yale she was the winner of the Emerson Prize and was an intern at the Vieth Resource Center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City, Tenn. Besides her parents of Jefferson City, Tenn., Miss Zirkle is survived by a sister, Sarah Zirkle of Bell Buckle, Tenn.; her fiance', Brett Edmund Marston of Brooklyn, Conn.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, 1997, at First Presbyterian Church, Jefferson City, with Dr. Robert Reno and Dr. Keith Nickle officiating. Family and friends will meet at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Saturday, April 12, 1997, at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. interment service. The family will receive friends Friday evening following the funeral services.
