Funeral services for William Donald Bennett, 80, of Clearfield, held July 22 in the Clearfield Christian Church, were conducted by Carl Cummings.

Mr. Bennett died July 19, 1979 in Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Interment was at Clearfield Cemetery, Clearfield, Iowa.

William Donald Bennett, son of George DeForrest Bennett and, Alice Jackson Bennett, was born on a farm near Lenox, Iowa, on November, 28, 1898.

He was united in marriage to Bernice Margaret House of Clearfield, Iowa, on February 23, 1927, and they established their home on a farm located between Clearfield and Lenox where they have continued to reside. To this union three children were born: Ivan, Lois and Joan. He was a member of the country Methodist Calvary Church of Lenox and later joined the Clearfield Christian Church and remained a faithful member as long as health permitted.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bernice, and the three children: Ivan and his wife Jane of Clearfield, Iowa; Lois and her husband, Daryl Rodman, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Joan Parker of Omaha, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren David Rodman, Debra and her husband, Rich La Claire, of Omaha, Caroline Parker and husband, Robert Huffman, of Yutan, Nebraska; Karen, Bill, Sharon and Larry Parker of Omaha; Diane Bennett and husband, Roger Knudson, of Omaha; Marilyn Bennett and husband, Robert Hildner, of Royal Oak, Mich; Barbara Bennett and husband, Jim Parrish of Kent, Iowa; Keith and Tim Bennett of Clearfield, Iowa. Four great grandchildren: Robert and Shevannah Huffman of Yutan, Neb; Andy and Dane Parish of Kent, Iowa. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother David, and two sisters, Marie Bennett and Flora Bennett.

His family and loved ones will remember him as a kind and loving husband, father, a good neighbor and loyal friend. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
