Robert F. Loya was a Private in the Army during World War II. Robert resided in Los Angeles County, California before enlisting on August 25, 1943. At the time of enlistment, Robert was 25 years old, had a grammar school education and was single, with dependents. One year later, Robert was captured by Nazi Germany while serving in France, and was sent to Rennes Military Hospital near Rennes, France where 307 other American POWs were held. Robert's capture was first reported to the International Committee of the Red Cross on July 8, 1944. Ultimately, Robert was returned to military control, liberated or repatriated.
