Janyce Calhoun Duke, age 53, of Joelton, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. Jan is survived by her best friend and husband, Phillip Duke; beloved sons, B and J Duke [ Removed the names from original post]; parents, Johnnie and Mary Calhoun; and brother, J and sister in law Calhoun.

A private family service will take place along Little Marrowbone Creek in the Carney-Demonbruen Cemetery, Cheatham County, TN.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org or to Nashville Public Television, 161 Rains Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37203-5330, https://secure.wnpt.org/ .

Jan was an author ; her book " Historic Photos of Nashville " sold online Amazon. Jan was a writer and photographer as well. Jan was a Journalist for the then website about.com where she had a great group of people working with her cover the " Music City Fan Fair " later called " Country Music Awards " featuring artists, musicians. Including, Nashville Music as the coverage of " Nashville Star " a syndicated Television Show showcasing new Artists. She along with her associates showcased Artists as Season 1 Winner, Buddy Jewell in 2003 , second runner up John Arthur Martinez and third runner up Miranda Lambert…the show was on USA Network 2002-2007 and in 2008 on NBC. She enjoyed Writing and History and Genealogy along with her husband Phillip. She contributed many articles of not only Artists, Musicians but local and humanitarian interests relating to Nashville Tennessee. She contributed to numerous projects including her son's school, genealogy works on Duke, Calhoun and more.
