Harold was the son of Henry and Leona Ausherman. He was born and raised in Kansas, and left home at seventeen years old. He joined the navy in 1943, and once WWII ended he returned to Kansas. Only to discover his family had moved to California. He made the journey and settled with the family in San Bernardino. He married and had two kids and took a job with the Santa Fe railway. He worked long, hard hours to ensure his family would never want for anything. Hence, friends dubbed him with the nickname "Cash". He worked on the railroad for 36 years before retiring due to health problems. He enjoyed building and making things, and always had to be doing something. Idel time made him anxious. He was very proud of his Cherokee lineage and loved spending time with his family, who miss him dearly.
