Nancy (McNutt) Welch, 85, of Springfield, passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's at Forest Glen of Springfield, Ohio, with her family in attendance. Daughter of Lloyd "Farmer" McNutt and Clara (Shook) McNutt.

Nancy was a Yellow Springs graduate of Bryan High School. Nancy went to Wittenberg University earning a BA in Education then continued at Wright State University for a Master's Degree in Supervision and Curriculum Development. Nancy began her career in the education system as a teacher in Springfield, and then she moved to Mills Lawn in Yellow Springs. As a teacher she earned her Master's, and upon graduation, she became principal for two schools in Yellow Springs-Morgan and Mills Lawn. She ended her career at West Carrolton Middle School, starting the school's first year round program. Nancy became a national leader developing year round programs across the country.

Born May 24, 1931 in Yellow Springs, Nancy was preceded in passing by her parents and two sisters, Judy McNutt Tropp and Sue McNutt Moeser. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Donald Elder Welch.

Burial will follow in the Glen Forrest Cemetery.
