Funeral services for Arthula Lucille Carman, 91, of Hydro will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in "The Chapel" at Hydro Masonic Cemetery with Lindel Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in Hydro Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
She passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, in Southwestern memorial Hospital in Weatherford.
Arthula was born on April 27, 1915, northwest of Hydro, Oklahoma to Oda and Alberta (Farrell) Tickel.
Arthula was raised and attended school in Hydro, graduating from Hydro High School in 1933.
On April 27, 1937, she married Roy Carman in Arapaho.
She received her teaching degree in 1948 from Southwest Teacher's College and in 1961 she received her master's degree.
Arthula taught in Jefferson School, Southeast of Thomas, and third grade in hydro schools, retiring in 1976.
Arthula enjoyed traveling, gardening, antiques, and watching OU football.
Arthula is survived by a daughter, Pat Hamar and her husband, Everett, of Weatherford; a sister, Zella Grizzle of Watonga; two grandchildren, Shelly Hamar and Marty Hamar and his wife, Candace, all of Weatherford; two great-grandchildren, Zandra and Mackenzie Hamar.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Cecil Tickel; and a sister, Reva Strong.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hydro Elementary School Fund.
