John Franklin Bristol Maunder - Passed away peacefully at Frost Manor, Lindsay, on Friday, August 8, 2014, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 64 years of the late Barbara Adele Maunder (née Gilbert). Devoted father to Gilbert (Elizabeth), Roblyn Maunder-Tetzlaff (Paul) and Adele Proulx (Roger), and proud Grampa to Craig (Kylie), Lacey (Paolo) and A.J. Fond brother of James Maunder. John grew up in Toronto's Rosedale neighbourhood, but chose to follow his dream to become a farmer. He owned farms in Unionville and Grand Valley before opting to work for Ford Tractor. Later in life, John and Barb were owner/operators of Norland Marine in the Kawartha Lakes tourist area. A memorial visitation will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay, on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 12 noon, followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00 p.m. and subsequent interment of ashes at Riverside Cemetery. Donations to Parkinson Society Canada would be appreciated by the family. Online donations or condolences may be made at the funeral home's website.
