Clergyman and Playwright. Canon of Westminster in 1642 and again after the Restoration from 1660 to his death. The date of his death in modern dating is 1700. Chaplain in King Charles I's army during the Civil War. Became rector of Wheathampstead in 1660 when Charles II was restored to the throne. Later he was chaplain and almoner to James, Duke of York. He was made Master of the Savoy (Hospital) in 1663. Reverend Dr. Killigrew is memorialized at the Westminster Abbey
