Golden H. Johnson, 54, mayor of Edgerton, died suddenly at 7 p.m. Wednesdy in his home following a heart attack.
A native of Prestonburg, Kentucky, he spent his youth in Edgerton. He then resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 21 years before returning here six years ago.
Mr. Johnson was elected mayor of the village in 1967, and was serving his third year in the official capacity. He was employed as a tool grinder at JBM Tool & Die Corporation, Bryan.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion John D. Smith Post No. 10, the DAV, and the local Church of Christ.
Surviving are the widow, Helen; one son, Darvin of Gardena, California; one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Habegger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his mother, Mrs. Polly Johnson, Tucson, Arizona; four brothers, Dewey of Edgerton, Ezra of Bryan, LeRoy and Eugene both of New Haven, Indiana; five sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Salsbur of Hillsdale, Michigan, Mrs. Arizona Latham of Camden, Michigan, Mrs. Rosemary Sprow, Chicago, Illinois, Miss Patricia Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona and Miss Betty Lou Johnson of Tucson, Arizona; and three grandchildren.
